Sending bouquets of love to all of you on this Valentine’s Day. Even though the commercialism of this holiday is everywhere, we can stop and find the love within us to give to others – to our family, friends, our customers, to strangers, to those who are in pain today or have no one to tell them they are special.
We have so much inside of us to give. My dear friend Starla J. King, in her new book “Wide Awake Every Day”, asks this powerful question; “How much beauty, how much capacity to love and be loved, how much value do you intrinsically hold within you?”
It is so easy to expect to receive, especially when things are hard in our lives. This, then, is the most important time to dig deep, to find that “capacity’ to love, to go out of our way just a bit and offer kindness to another in need. I am always surprised at how much more I get back – when I don’t expect it or look for any return.
Be just a little more aware of people you meet today, and a little more generous with your giving of yourself. It is a good day to go out of your way and offer kindness – it is the most important gift we can give. Enjoy this day with love.
